die Bedeutung der Zauberformel Simsalabim

Simsalabim geht mit hoher Wahrscheinlichkeit auf Begegnungen mit Muslimen zurück, die bis ins Spätmittelalter (auch wegen des damaligen technologisch-wissenschaftlichen Fortschritts der islamisch geprägten gegenüber der europäischen Welt) oft als „Zauberer“ beschrieben wurden. Das von praktizierenden Muslimen vor jeder bedeutungsvollen Tätigkeit gesprochene Bismi allah rahman i rahim (Im Namen Gottes, des Allbarmherzigen) wurde daher in volkstümlichen Erzählungen lautmalerisch als beschwörende Zauberformel verstanden. („Simsalabim – und es geschah.“)
